TALA SILVA -SUDDEN LOVE EP

As I have mentioned many times on this blog, TikTok has been the spot I have found so many great up-and-coming indie artists over the years. The app is a hotbed for so much good music from people making it at home with no limitations, and it is so fun to find new artists to love on that app. Someone I found last year on that app who I came to really appreciate and admire is Tala Silva. If you have ever heard the term “Bedroom Pop,” it is a perfect description of Tala Silva’s music. Not only does she literally make and produce all of her music in her own bedroom, but her sound also has the kinda of dreamy and sweet sound that most people would associate with that kind of music. Her sound can vary from Alternative Pop and Rock to R&B, making it palatable for so many people. Her sound can be akin to artists from beabadoobee to Laufey to The Marias. Tala Silva has been very prolific in her releases in the last year(and i have covered a lot of that music on Eastside Vibes). Since the start of 2025, she has dropped more than 15 singles. She has also dropped two EPs, 2025’s Highs and Lows, and her latest release, Sudden Love. Below, I wanted to highlight a couple of my favorite songs from Sudden Love, as well as give some overall comments on it. Please let me know in the comments below what you think of Tala Silva, and comment the names of any other rising artists I should check out!

SUDDEN LOVE

Compared to a lot of her music of late, ‘Sudden Love’ has more of an uptempo and peppy sound. Most of her singles in 2026 were a bit slower, but this song has a bit more emphasis and life. The melody for ‘Sudden Love’ is so floaty and sweet. The guitar riff that drives this one is pretty groovy; the bassline and keyboard riff that are added on are really complementary. The drums for this song are light yet quick. They make me want to sway and dance when I listen to this track. Tala Sliva’s vocals are so soothing and nice. I really like the layering at some points in the track, as they give the song a bit more emphasis and life. Her vocal performance on this one is pretty even-keeled and meshes with the melody very well. On ‘Sudden Love,’ Tala Silva sings about becoming infatuated with a partner and wanting to know what they are doing and if they are thinking of her.

LIKE YOU USED TO

‘Like You Used To’ has the kind of slow and dainty sound that I have become more accustomed to hearing from Tala Silva of late. The instrumental arrangement of this song is very cool and unique. The melody for this song is delicate yet strong at the same time. The guitar riff that drives this song is funky and sugary. The piano riff and synths that complement it make the melody feel so full. The way that the drums are arranged on this one is what makes the instrumental especially stand out. They come to a bit of a crescendo at multiple points in the track, which really makes it pop. Tala Silva really shows off her vocal range and abilities on ‘Like You Used To.’ The high notes that she hits really make this song pop. The emotion that she sings with on this track is so palpable. On ‘Like You Used To,’ Tala Silva reminisces about love and how it made her feel.

Over the last year or so, Tala Silva has easily become one of my favorite new Pop artists. She has so much talent as a singer, songwriter, and musician, and her music just feels so earnest. That feeling is evident once again on this new EP Sudden Love. Even though this project is very short at 4 songs and 7 minutes, it has an impact for sure. As I talked about in the couple of songs above, three of the four songs(and a lot of her music lately) have been pretty slow and delicate-sounding. She has definitely mastered this slow, sultry, loving song, and we see that in a big way on this project. I really like how the song ‘Sudden Love’ does change up that trend a bit. This song switched the tempo of the project and gives the project a bit of a different texture. Overall everything that makes Tala Silva great is on display in Sudden Love. The instrumentals are pretty, the vocals are awesome, and the lyricism is so earnest. If you are a fan of Dream Pop, you will love this EP. Once again, Tala Silva proves she is one to watch on Sudden Love, and I can not wait to see what she does next!
