For all the new Milwaukee rappers who have been popping off over the last couple of years, there are many artists who have been holding it down and laying the groundwork in this city for years. Milwaukee’s Slap music scene may be on the rise right now, but the city is full of talented Hip Hop artists of all different styles. Cardiac Da Pulse has been a part of the Milwaukee Hip Hop scene for a long time, and has always carved his own lane. He has a distinctive old school Trap sound that really stands out among the music of his peers. After dropping an album called Blue Roses in 2023(which was covered on Eastside Vibes and thoroughly enjoyed), Cardiac Da Pulse has been quiet for the last two years. He did drop two singles in 2024, but was quiet in 2025. Cardiac Da Pulse just released a new track called ‘Wish You The Best’ featuring RICHXSOUL. Some of my favorite tracks in the past from Cardiac Da Pulse have been when he raps on an instrumental with a lighter R&B Trap-style beat. ‘Wish You The Best’ is a song that definitely fits into this style. The melody for this track is so smooth. It has a retro sound that reminds me of the R&B of the early 2000s. The synths that drive this melody are so groovy and warm. The synths are complemented by some vocals by RICHXSOUL, which give it depth. The beat is just as silky as the melody, and the heaviness of the bass gives the track some emphasis. Cardac Da Pulse rides this instrumental so well. He is constantly switching up his flow throughout the track, creating some cool textures. Cardiac Da Pulse’s low tone kind of contrasts the melody and vocals of RICHXSOUL, making it stand out awesomely. RICHXSOUL’s tone is inviting and nice, and it goes with the melody very well. On ‘Wish You The Best,’ Cardiac Da Pulse raps about letting a woman he used to love stay with a lazy man who will never treat her the way she deserves.
