CHECK OUT THESE NEW SINGLES FROM MILWAUKEE’S MYAAP

Out of the many Milwaukee rappers who have been popping off over the last couple of years, arguably none of them have been as impactful as Myaap. I feel like Myaap has always embodied everything about what makes Milwaukee music great and unique. She has such a flamboyant personality, which permeates into her music, and she has leaned into the Milwaukee Slap music sound so hard that it is almost just associated with her now. Myaap has been on an absolute roll over the last four years or so. Ever since she started to pop off in 2022, she has been one of the top rappers to come from Milwaukee, and she has brought so much love to the city. I feel like if you have been active on TikTok over the last couple of years, you have no doubt come across Myaap’s music. Her latest viral hit, ‘Fairy,’ is one of the biggest viral songs of 2025. This track ended up causing one of the most fun dances on TikTok and Instagram this year, with influencers and celebrities all participating. I even saw Chris Brown hop on the trend at some point. ‘Fairy’ was not only big online, but it even became an unofficial theme song for the WNBA, which was pretty cool to see. Besides ‘Fairy,’ though, Myaap was relatively quiet with her releases this year. She usually has been pretty prolific with her releases since she popped off, but in 2025, she was not nearly as active. Myaap just dropped two new singles, though, titled ‘Love Me Not’ and ‘Stop It,’ which I wanted to highlight below. Please let me know in the comments how you feel about Myaap and her new singles, and also comment the names of any other songs by up-and-coming artists you think I should check out!

As one would expect from Myaap, both ‘Love Me Not’ and ‘Stop It’ have the kind of gritty energy that she has become so popular for over the years. ‘Love Me Not’ has a smoother and more sultry sound than a lot of her other music, though. There is something about this track that makes me think of G-Funk music, which I dig a lot. The melody for this track is so groovy. The song is driven by a fast-paced and dancey bassline, and it is complemented by some euphoric synths that make me feel like I am floating when I listen to it. The beat for this track is very rapid, and it is honestly just want to get out of my chair and dance. Myaap raps with a pretty laid-back and soft tone compared to what I would normally expect from her. I really like her softer delivery on this track, and it fits the silky feeling of the instrumental so well. ‘Love Me Not’ has a less boisterous sound than what Myaap normally does, and it shows a more mellow side to her. ‘Stop It’ is another song with a track with sound that goes a bit against what one may expect from her at this point. There is something about this track that really reminds me of old school New Orleans kind of instrumentals. When I hear this one, I think of some of the early Cash Money music by artists like Lil Wayne or Juvenile. The melody for ‘Stop It’ is grimy and dark. There is a good bit of distortion on this melody, which really adds to the harsh feeling of the track overall. The beat for ‘Stop It’ actually does not have the kind of Slap music sound Myaap typically goes for. Instead, this beat has an intense Drill sound, driven by a bassline that will vibrate any room when it comes on. Myaap’s rap delivery on this song is deliberate and bold. She raps with a slow cadence and sassy tone that gives this song a very big and brash feeling. Overall, these two singles show a slightly different side to Myaap’s artistry while still keeping the flair that has made her so popular to this point, and there is a lot to like about both of them.
