CHECK OUT ‘EVERY NIGHT,’ THE NEW SINGLE FROM MILWAUKEE ALTERNATIVE ARTIST ADORNER

As I have stated many times on this blog, although Milwaukee is mainly known for aggressive Hip Hop, our music scene goes so far beyond that. Milwaukee has a burgeoning Alternative music scene that gets bigger and stronger by the day. Artists like The Keystones and Diet Lite have laid the cornerstones for this Milwaukee Alternative scene, and more and more people are noticing and appreciating it as 2024 rolls along. One of my favorite rising Alternative/Indie Rock artists that is coming up in Milwaukee right now is ADORNER. They have not been making music for a long time, but they are already impacting the Milwaukee Alternative scene and underground Indie music scenes in general. ADORNER is the brainchild of Madeline Stadel, who thought of creating this musical act in a dream in 2020 and enlisted some of her friends to help make it a reality. ADORNER released their first single, ‘Right Time / All The Time’ in the summer of 2021, and dropped their first EP, ADORNER, in May of 2022. This project garnered a ton of attention for ADORNER and put them on the map as one to watch. After releasing just one single in 2023, titled ‘Black Night,’ ADORNER started 2024 hot with two new tracks, titled ‘Nimwe’ and ‘Backbone.’ Immediately when listening to ADORNER’s music, it is not tough to see why so many people are captivated by their sound. ADORNER has a style of music that is eclectic, psychedelic, and all-encompassing; they draw from such a wide variety of influences that makes their music so interesting. ADORNER recently released another new single called ‘Every Night’ which I wanted to highlight below. Please let me know in the comments below what you think of this new track from ADORNER, and also comment the names of any other rising Indie artists you think I should check out!

Like ADORNER’S first two tracks of the year, ‘Every Night’ has a celestial sound that makes the listener feel like they are floating when they hear it. This song has a feeling that is light and heavy at the same time. The overall tone of the melody is sweet, warm, and bright, but the way the instrumental is arranged almost makes the song feel dark. This is because of the imposing elements of all the instruments that provide this melody. The melody is mainly driven by a cozy piano riff, but it is complemented by a bass and various other guitars that come in and out. The drums on this song pound, especially during the sections that have the super full instrumentation. As the song progresses, its sound gets more and more massive. By the end of ‘Every Night,’ we get a crescendo of sound that is so epic. ‘Every Night’ sort of reminds me of 1970s Psychedelic ballads by artists like Pink Floyd or even REO Speedwagon. As cool as the instrumental for this track is, the best part about ‘Every Night’ is the vocals. Madeline from ADORNER absolutely kills in on this track. Her range on this song is beautiful and she sings with so much power and emphasis; the emotions in her vocals are so palpable; this emotional tone to her vocals is one of the things that makes ‘Every Night’ feel so huge. ‘Every Night’ has such an awesome energy to it, and I would love to hear this one performed live soon because of how epic it is. ‘Every Night’ is yet another example of why ADORNER is so special, and it makes me so excited to hear their debut album, which should be coming out soon!
