CHECK OUT ‘CELEBRATION,’ THE NEW TRACK FROM MILWAUKEE’S CARDIAC DA PULSE

Over the last year or so, the Milwaukee Hip Hop scene has been thriving more than ever. Due to the success of artists like Myaap, J.P., and 414bigfrank, there are more eyes on Milwaukee Hip Hop than ever; the world is starting to notice all of the massive talent that is coming out of this city. There are still so many great Milwaukee Hip Hop artists that I feel deserve so much more shine, however. Cardiac Da Pulse is one of those awesome Milwaukee rappers that definitely needs more recognition, in my opinion. He has a sound and style that is so classic and modern at the same time. There are elements to his music that are reminiscent of the 1990s and 2000s, but there is also so much in his music that makes it sound fresh and unique in today’s Hip Hop landscape. Cardiac Da Pulse has been putting out music for a long time(his first releases on Spotify go all the way back to 2016), but he has truly come into his own over the last couple of years. In 2022, he released three excellent singles, titled ‘Caught Up’ featuring Class M., ‘Family Ties’ featuring Ferro Haze, and ‘Stars in the Ceilings’ featuring James Tatum. All three of these songs show a different side to his artistry and prove his massive range as a Hip Hop artist. At the beginning of 2023, Cardiac Da Pulse released his exceptional album Blue Roses. This was easily one of my favorite Milwaukee projects of 2023, as it showcases how dynamic and deep a rapper Cardiac Da Pulse is and has music that can appeal to so many kinds of Hip Hop fans(I actually did write up for each of those aforementioned singles and I reviewed Blue Roses. I also included it on my list of my favorite Milwaukee projects of 2023. Please go read those if you have not yet after this!). Cardiac Da Pulse recently made his triumphant return with a new song called ‘Celebration,’ which features RICHXSOUL and Richie P. Goldchain. I wanted to briefly highlight this new track from Cardiac Da Pulse below. Please let me know in the comments how you feel about Cardiac Da Pulse’s ‘Celebration,’ and also comment the names of any other new music from independent artists you think I should check out!

‘Celebration’ is a smooth and sultry R&B Trap track with a ton of power. This is the kind of song to play when you want to get any dance floor jumping. It has major hot summer party energy to it, which I absolutely love. The melody for Celebration is driven by a bright and groovy piano riff that has a bit of a gritty element to it; it is complemented by synths with various levels of saturation that make it feel so full. This is the kind of melody that gives me a stank face when I turn it on; the funk oozes out of the instrumental on this track. ‘Celebration’ has an upbeat and punchy Pop-Trap beat that is bound to get anyone moving when it comes on. In fact, I am literally having a tough time sitting here and writing about this, as I want to get up and start dancing around my apartment. The bass in this beat absolutely pounds, giving the song so much life and emphasis. As cool as this instrumental is, the thing that really makes ‘Celebration’ pop is the vocals. All three artists on this track totally kill it. RICHXSOUL’s vocals are so silky and charming, giving this song such a warm and inviting feeling. Both Cardiac Da Pulse and Richie P. Goldchain provide different levels of vibrancy to this track with their unique deliveries. Cardiac Da Pulse’s low, gruff tone and even-keeled flow contrast the singing vocals and the melody nicely, giving the song a cool texture it benefits from. Richie P. Goldchain, however, raps with a slightly higher pitch and a bit of a more staggered flow, providing yet another very cool layer to this song that makes the track hit. ‘Celebration’ is a song that feels like it could be a summer anthem. I hope clubs all around the city are bumping this one in the coming months because the song just oozes positivity and good feelings. ‘Celebration’ not only gets me very excited to see what Cardiac Da Pulse does next, but it also makes me want to dive into RICHXSOUL and Richie P. Goldchain’s music because they are both great on this track as well.
