CHECK OUT THESE NEW SINGLES FROM VIRAL MILWAUKEE ARTIST JP

Over the last year or so, the Milwaukee Hip Hop scene has taken off in ways that it hasn’t for such a long time. Every month, it seems like there is another Milwaukee Hip Hop artist going viral. From AyooLii to Certified Trapper to 414bigfrank to Myaap, Milwaukee rappers have been cementing themselves as some of the most interesting artists on the rise today. So many music fans around the country are finally seeing how talented and unique the Hip Hop scene is in this city, and it is awesome to see as a person who has embraced and been a part of this scene for so long. One Milwaukee rapper who has been taking the world by storm over the last few months is J.P. If you are active on TikTok, Twitter(or X, I guess), and/or Instagram, I am almost certain you have seen videos with his music popping up on your feed as of late. Although J.P. has started to see a ton of success recently, this is actually not the first time he has gone viral. J.P. first started to see a multitude of streams on his music a couple of years ago, when his single ‘Juicey Ahhh’ popped off online. J.P. has been honing his craft for a while, getting better and better as his career has progressed. His first singles on streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music date back to 2020, and he has been very prolific in his releases since. J.P. has released more than 25 singles and three EPs in the last four years, with two of those EPs, Party Mix and Bad Guy, having come out last year. In addition to these EPs, J.P. put out three albums last year as well, titled Everything You’re Not, No Discounts, and Highs and Lows. It is easy to see why J.P. is becoming so popular, as his music is so catchy and fun. It is the kind of music that will get any function jumping when it comes on. Below, I wanted to briefly highlight J.P.’s two latest viral singles, ‘Bad Bitty’ and ‘She Took.’ Please let me know in the comments below how you feel about these new tracks from J.P., and also comment the names of any other rising artists you think I should check out.

‘Bad Bitty’ is a song that has been absolutely thriving on social media over the last few months. This song is starting to go ridiculously viral, with so many of the internet’s biggest stars making videos to this track. From Tik Tok stars like Aries Williams or Ekane to musicians Wiz Khalifa and Chris Brown, it seems like this track is captivating so many people. If you have somehow not heard ‘Bad Bitty’ yet, go listen to it right now below to see why so many people love this one. ‘Bad Bitty’ is just such a fun and addictive track. The fast and raucous beat has the kind of quirky Milwaukee Pop-Drill music sound that will get anyone dancing when it comes on. I can’t help but clap my hands and move my body when this track plays. As addicting as the instrumental is, the vocals take the track to another level. Everything about the vocal performance on ‘Bad Bitty’ is great. The silly, tongue-in-cheek lyricism is so catchy and is a blast to sing along to, and the unique tone that J.P. sings with is such an earworm. It is impossible not to smile and feel good when this track comes on. ‘Bad Bitty’ has an incredible energy to it that will lift anyone’s spirits that hears it. J.P.’s newest single, ‘She Took,’ is not quite as possible as the song that precedes it yet, but it is also starting to take off online. Like ‘Bad Bitty,’ it is simple to realize why so many people love this one. ‘She Took’ has a slightly darker and funkier tone than ‘Bad Bitty,’ but it is still so fun and fresh. I do not know if this is literally the case, but the melody for this track sort of sounds like a sample from ‘Macarena.’ It is so unique to hear this kind of melody in a Hip Hop song, and it makes ‘She Took’ stand out in the best way. Like ‘Bad Bitty,’ ‘She Took’ has an upbeat, energetic drum pattern that has Milwaukee Pop-Drill music written all over it. If you are a fan of this upbeat Drill sound, please go check out some more Milwaukee artists(like the ones I mentioned in the intro, for example), as there are a lot of artists in this city making music with these kinds of awesome beats. J.P.’s vocal performance on ‘She Took’ is just as great as it is on ‘Bad Bitty.’ His unconventional tone and flow are so entertaining, and they make this song so easy to sing and dance along to. I would not be remotely surprised if this one becomes as popular(if not more) than ‘Bad Bitty,’ because it has a charming energy to it that’s frankly awesome. ‘She Took’ and ‘Bad Bitty’ are two examples of the massive talent that J.P. possesses; I am excited to see him continue to grow and thrive in the future.
