In 2023, Hip Hop artists from Milwaukee are having more success than they have ever had. So many artists from the city have been popping off this year. From DC The Don to Lakeyah to Ayoolii, the city is bursting with artists who are putting it on the map as a bed for potential Hip Hop stars. Hell, I even just saw an article about how Lil Uzi Vert wants to work with 414bigFrank after hearing some of his music, which is awesome. One Hip Hop artist from Milwaukee who has also seen a lot of success this year who I have started to enjoy a ton in Partyat4. Partyat4 has seen himself on a rapid rise to stardom after his single ‘Red Bottoms’ went viral near the end of 2022. Since then, he has been prolific in his releases, having put out multiple projects and singles that all show how interesting and diverse an artist he can be(He actually just put out a mixtape called How Dare You that I will be reviewing in the near future as well). Partyat4 even got Toosii to remix another one of his singles that has gone viral, ‘To Da Moon,’ earlier this year. The fact that he can get artists like Toosii to remix his music shows how popular he has been becoming over the last year or so. Partyat4 recently released a new single called ‘FWM’ which is already doing the rounds online and having major success on various social media sites and in online music music communities. Below, I wanted to briefly talk about how I feel about ‘FWM,’ as it is another example of why Partyat4 is such an interesting artist to follow. Please let me know in the comments below how you feel about Partyat4 and ‘FWM,’ and also comment the names of some more songs and artists that I should check out next!
‘FWM’ shows off the slow and sensual side of Partyat4’s artistry he excels so much at. This song is driven by a warm synth-driven melody that is super sweet. I love how fat and distorted the synths that drive this melody are, as they make the song sound so cozy and pleasant. The start of this track has a slow and sultry Trap that is so calm and easy-going. About a minute or so into the track, the beat picks up, picking up a pretty quick tempo that makes me think of the R&B from the early 2000s. The first minute of the song has a beat that is reminiscent of modern R&B Trap artists like Rod Wave or 6lack, and the last two minutes of the song have a beat that makes me think of artists like Neyo or Mario. Partyat4’s vocals on this track are very welcoming and soothing, matching the feeling of the instrumental so well. His tone on this song is cheerful and sultry, making this track feel all-encompassing. ‘FWM’ is a gratifying love song where Partyat4 is pleading for his girl to accept his love and let him into her life because he knows he could be so good for her. ‘FWM’ is a great love song that shows the softer side of Partyat4 which I appreciate a lot. Go run up the streams on this new awesome track from Partyat4, and stay tuned for my review of his mixtape How Dare You which will be coming up soon.
